Maine: Muslims “frustrated” by “backlash” after Brussels jihad massacre
What backlash? Muslims attacked? Mosques burned? Laws passed barring Muslims from entering airports? No. Actually, there has been no backlash at all: “violence against Maine’s estimated 6,000 Muslims has not been a serious problem.” So where’s the backlash? Why, one Muslim says that “the anger and hostility displayed nationally during the political campaign season eventually […]

Southern California: Muslims screaming “Allahu akbar” fire hundreds of shots in remote area, are arrested and released
Below are four reports about this incident. South China Sea Disputes
China's Coast Guard Rams Fishing Boat to Free It from Indonesian Authorities (2016-03-22)
(New York Times, By Joe Cochrane) China’s Coast Guard rammed one of the country’s fishing boats to pry it free from the Indonesian authorities who had seized it over the weekend, angering the Indonesian government and heightening yet another diplomatic dispute over the South China Sea.

The South China Sea's ‘White-Hull’ Warfare (2016-03-26)
(The National Interest, By Koh Swee Lean Collin) Remember one of James Cable’s astute observations in the seminal work Gunboat Diplomacy: sheer size matters. The side with the larger fleet and superior vessels prevails. This is a sobering reality played out in the South China Sea incidents: larger coast guard ships can furnish Beijing a “stabilizing” and “defensive” veneer to justify its own strategic narrative of being “victimized” in the disputes.

South China Sea: China Has Deployed Anti-Ship Missiles on Woody Island (2016-03-26)
(The Diplomat, By Ankit Panda) The YJ-62 ASCM would allow China to potentially target any surface vessel within 400 kilometers of Woody Island.

Xi Jinping and Maritime Militarization (2016-03-23)
(The Diplomat, By Greg Austin) Xi’s commitment in 2015 about the Spratly Islands could not have meant China would not station soldiers or military equipment there, or that other countries should not do so. It more likely meant that from that point on, China would not be the first side to organize its armed forces there for a military confrontation over the islands.

Taiwan Takes Media on Tour of South China Sea Island Claim (2016-03-23)
(AP, By Johnson Lai) Taiwan flew international media to its largest island holding in the South China Sea on Wednesday in a bid to reinforce its territorial claims in the disputed and increasingly tense region.
Foreign Reporters Visit Itu Aba Island (2016-03-24)
(Taipei Times) President Ma Ying-jeou said that the trip was organized because he wanted international journalists to witness firsthand that Itu Aba is an island, not a rock.
Taiwan Argues Its South China Sea Case in the Court of Public Opinion (2016-03-24)
(The Diplomat, By Shannon Tiezzi) If Itu Aba is ruled an island – and thus is able to generate a 200 nautical mile EEZ – the maritime entitlements associated with Itu Aba would cover much of the rest of the Spratlys. And, because the tribunal cannot decide questions of sovereignty, it would leave open the door for all parties – including Beijing – to claim that EEZ.
Taiwan President on China, Disputed Islands (2016-03-27)
(CNN) Christiane Amanpour speaks to the President of Taiwan Ma Ying-jeou about the country's relations with China and the growing tensions in the South China Sea.
East China Sea Disputes and Japan Policy
A Pragmatic Public: Observations of Japan's 2016 Public Opinion Survey on Diplomacy (2016-03-22)
(PacNet #30, Pacific Forum, CSIS, By Brad Glosserman and Akira Igata) The slight improvement in views of China suggests that the Japanese distinguish between “distant” threats in the South China Sea and “real” threats closer to home, such as the Senkakus, which have been relatively peaceful (in comparison).
U.S. “Pivot” to Asia and Sino-U.S. Engagement
Obama's Recent China Policy--More Resolve, Rising Tension (2016-03-21)
(PacNet #29, Pacific Forum, CSIS, By Robert Sutter) Rising tensions with China seem to be accepted in Washington as unavoidable consequences of the US need to protect important interests from negative Chinese practices.

Are China and the US Close to Sealing an Investment Treaty?
 (2016-03-24)
(The Diplomat, By Shannon Tiezzi) China and the United States are almost finished with negotiations over a key investment treaty, former Chinese Commerce Minister Chen Deming said. If successfully concluded, the bilateral investment treaty could substantially increase Chinese and U.S. investments in each other’s markets.

Xi Knows Unification Is Futile Now: Ma (2016-03-27)
(CNA) President Ma Ying-jeou said in an interview that both he and Chinese President Xi Jinping are well aware that the conditions for the unification of the two sides of the Taiwan Strait are lacking at present.

China's Gambia Gambit and What It Means for Taiwan

Beijing's Gambia Gambit Feeds Suspicion Across Taiwan Strait (2016-03-22)
(Wall Street Journal, By Andrew Browne) The bigger puzzle is why Taiwan cares as much as it does about this diplomatic struggle with China, a legacy of their Cold War hostility. Except for the Vatican, the island’s 22 diplomatic friends have almost no global clout.

Three Strikes: A Tipping Point for Hong Kong?
 (2016-03-24)
(The Diplomat, By Farzana Aslam) One of the reasons that Hong Kong is a location of choice for multinationals in the region, and why many have chosen Hong Kong as their regional headquarters, is not because Hong Kong offers greater economic opportunities than a headquarters based on the mainland would afford. Rather, it is to avoid the threat of the exercise of arbitrary power that living in a jurisdiction with a weak rule of law poses to one of any company’s most important assets, namely, its employees.

Right-wing protest group Casuals United Belgium is set to stage a controversial march through the Brussels district of Molenbeek, the area known as the jihadist capital of Europe.
post on the group’s Facebook page calls on as many people as possible to attend a rally in Molenbeek which will begin at 3pm on Saturday.
“This is the opportunity to express our displeasure in the den of the lion,” states the post.
Reporting on the planned march one Belgian news outlet remarks, “The riots on Sunday in Brussels seem to be only the beginning”.
That’s a reference to demonstrations which took place on Saturday at the site of the memorial to the victims of the Brussels attacks.
500-1000 right-wing protesters clashed with police, who at one point used a water cannon to disperse what some in the media described as a riot.
Casuals United Belgium are a collective of soccer fans, many would call them hooligans, who put aside club rivalries to band together in opposition to what they claim represents the Islamization of Europe.
A march through Molenbeek would be almost certain to spark a massive confrontation between the district’s Muslim population and right-wing demonstrators.
As the New York Times reports, Molenbeek is widely known as Belgium’s “Jihad Central,” and was home to numerous terrorists including Paris massacre mastermind Abdelhamid Abaaoud, who grew up in the area.
Paris attacker Salah Abdeslam also hid in an apartment in Molenbeek for months after the Paris attack, aided by friends and neighbors who helped him evade a manhunt for four months.
Myself, along with Infowars reporter Joe Biggs and cameraman Michael Zimmerman also visited Molenbeek days after the Paris massacre, only to be chased out of the district by groups of Muslims.

Presidential candidate Donald Trump was once again asked this past weekend by a reporter on live TV if he will throw people into internment camps.
Jonathan Karl of ABC News’ This Week stated “So let me ask you, you said that Islam is at war with us. A lot of people wonder, given some of your proposals, whether or not you would go the next step towards internment camps. And I know you’ve never proposed that.”
“Would you categorically rule out the idea of internment camps for American Muslims?” Karl asked Trump.
“I would rule it out.” Trump replied.
He expanded on the subject by saying “…but we would have to be very vigilant. We’re going to have to be very smart.”
“We’re going to have to be very rigid, very vigilant. And if we’re not very, very strong and very, very smart, we have a big, big problem coming up. We’ve already had the problem. Check out the World Trade Center, OK.”
“Check out the Pentagon,” Trump continued. “We’ve already had the problem… I would say you have to be extremely strong. You have to keep your eyes open.”
Trump also called on Muslims in the US to report “bad acts” being planned and carried out within their communities.
“Muslims in our country have to report bad acts, OK? When you look at what happened in Europe, in Brussels, where many, many people knew this thug from last week, was living right in the midst of them, right only a few doors down from where he was living previously, they knew he was there. Nobody reported him.” Trump urged.
Internment camps is a subject that Trump has been forced to fend off several times in interviews.
Back in December, at the height of the “muslim ban” controversy Trump was asked about the camps set up for Japanese Americans under Franklin D. Roosevelt, and if he advocates a similar concept.
Trump flatly denied he would ever instigate such camps, saying of Japanese Americans “They stripped them of their naturalization proceedings. They went through a whole list of things; they couldn’t go five miles from their homes. They weren’t allowed to use radios, flashlights. I mean, you know, take a look at what FDR did many years ago and he’s one of the most highly respected presidents.”
The notion has not gone away, however, partly due to talking heads, such as Daily Beast columnist Sally Kohn, who earlier this month declared to a live CNN panel that Trump will institute internment camps and suspend habeas corpus.

FEMEN activists were acquitted of sexual exhibitionism charges in Lille Wednesday for their topless protest during the trial of former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn last year.
The three activists, who wrote “pimps, clients, guilty” and “your turn to be f**ked” on their bare chests, shouted at Strauss-Kahn’s car before being arrested by police in February 2015.
“A political demonstration should not be confused with sexual aggression,” FEMEN’s lawyer Valentine Reberioux said. “These are political acts using the nude torso as a mode of expression and it ends there.”
Prosecutors had called for a three-month suspended sentence and a fine. They have ten days to appeal the verdict.
“Today’s victory of FEMEN activists in Lille’s court is a victory of all feminists,” FEMEN said on its website. “The court didn’t see any violation in activists’ protest performance against the sex offender Strauss-Kahn, former director of the International Monetary Fund, in 2015. It’s sexual abuse that should be banned, not feminism! And the fight continues!”
Strauss-Kahn was in court for his alleged role in aiding and assisting in the prostitution of seven women.
He claimed he was unaware that the women he had orgies with were sex workers – and was eventually acquitted of all charges last June.
FEMEN was protesting sexual violence against women and in support of victims of prostitution.
FEMEN is an international women’s movement whose activists protest topless with slogans painted on their chests and flower crowns in their hair.
Their ideology centers around “sextremism” and feminism.
The group has previously been found guilty in two cases in France.
One activist was fined €1,500 for attacking a wax figure of Vladimir Putin in Paris in 2014 while sans chemise.
Another was given a one-month suspended sentence after a December 2013 topless protest against abortion restrictions in Spain.
Both cases are now being appealed.

Ted Cruz declined to answer a question on Monday about whether he has ever been unfaithful to his wife Heidi.
‘Senator Cruz,’ DailyMail.com asked him, ‘can you please swat down more definitively this National Enquirer piece by telling us on the record that you’ve never been unfaithful to your wife?’
The National Enquirer published a story last Wednesday that speculated about five women with whom the Republican presidential candidate was rumored to have had extramarital affairs.
Cruz has batted down the specifics of the story on numerous occasions since it appeared in supermarket checkout lanes.
But instead of making a blanket declaration that he has been faithful during the entirety of his 14-year marriage – a move that would effectively end the vicious news cycle – Cruz stood silently as campaign surrogate Carly Fiorina leapt in to intercept the question and change the subject.

A skater attacked the prankster right in front of the police! You can clearly see 3 cops in the background.
A social experiment conducted by popular prankster YouTuber Joey Salads suggests that it’s Bernie Sanders supporters and not Donald Trump voters who are the most violent. Joey had to tell people “It’s a prank!” in order to avoid getting punched in the face for supporting Trump, yet the histeric propaganda mass media still lies that its Trump’s supporters who are violent. Since when in a Western free country someone has to keep his political views hidden to avoid getting punched? Not a single Trump supporter did anything to the prankster when he pretended to be a Bernie supporter.
For the past several weeks, the media has blamed Trump for “inciting violence” at his rallies despite the fact that most of the unrest was caused by professional agitators who aligned themselves with the socialist Senator from Vermont.
Salads hit the streets of north Hollywood to compare reactions to him holding a Trump sign and a Bernie sign.
People exiting a metro station didn’t react to the Bernie sign, but as soon as Salads switched to a Trump sign he began to receive hostility.
One man with a skateboard tells Salads, “It’s people like you that are the problem in this country,” before asserting that he plans to vote for Bernie.
“He is racist, man….everything that comes out of his mouth,” the man continues, arguing that Trump opposing illegal immigration is racist.
“I’m offended by it, to tell you the truth,” states the man before getting aggressive and shoving Salads’ Trump sign with his skateboard and telling him “f**k you!”
“Put the f**king sign down man, put the f**king sign down!” demands the man as he paces towards Salads and tries to grab the sign.
“Racist, fascist pig,” states another woman as she walks past Salads holding the Trump sign.
“F**k Trump, he’s a f**king racist,” an African-American man tells Salads before swatting the sign out of his hands.
Salads then meets a parade of Bernie supporters who call him a racist before numerous people driving past in cars give him the finger.
“Feel the Bern!” yells another driver who proceeds to throw a bottle of water at Salads.
As soon as Salads switches to a Bernie sign, the middle fingers turn into thumbs up.
“By the looks of this video it turns out that the Bernie supporters are actually more aggressive than the Trump supporters,” concludes Salads.
“I actually got assaulted, got a water bottle thrown at me, got cursed at, got flicked off plenty of times, when I became a Bernie supporter, it was nothing but love and thumbs up, the Trump supporters never said anything to me.”
Salads is a popular entertainer who has over one million subscribers on YouTube. Some of his videos have received over 100 million views on Facebook.
There have been numerous instances of Trump supporters being harassed, including a Gainesville, Virginia woman whose home was vandalized before she received death threats.
Trump himself has received a deluge of death threats and has been under Secret Service protection since October last year. He recently began wearing a bullet proof vest at all public appearances.

Sephardic Chief Rabbi Yitzhal Yosef has faced a public backlash after saying that according to Jewish law some non-Jews should be forbidden to live in Israel.
“According to Jewish law, it’s forbidden for a non-Jew to live in the Land of Israel – unless he has accepted the seven Noahide laws,” Rabbi Yosef said during his weekly Saturday lecture on March 26.
Non-Jews who fail to live by the seven Noahide laws should be expelled to Saudi Arabia, he added.
“If he’s not willing to accept one of them, [which is] not to commit suicide, if he’s not willing to accept this, you send him to Saudi Arabia,” Yosef said.
The seven Laws of Noah include prohibitions against idolatry, blaspheming God, murder, illicit sexual relations, stealing and eating a limb of a live animal. It also prescribes the establishment of a legal system that would ensure obedience to the law.
If a non-Jew stays in Israel, he has to serve the Jews, the Rabbi said. The question is what does he mean? As slaves??
“Who will be the servers? Who will be our assistants? Therefore, we leave them here in the land,” he said.
However, following a wave public outrage, Josef had to backtrack on his comments. He explained that his words had nothing to do with today’s world as he had been referring to the “days of the messiah.”
“These laws are theoretical, [and] refer to fulfilling the seven Noahide Laws in the days of the messiah, and have no connection to the present day,” he wrote, adding that he has “always adopted a peaceful and embracing path.”
“It’s clear that there’s no law in our time, God forbid, to expel non-Jews from Israel,” he concluded.
This is not the first time Chief Rabbi Yosef has found himself in hot water over his racist comments against non-Jews. Earlier this month he said that Israelis should not be afraid to kill terrorists armed with knives.
